LAYYAH: Counter Terrorism Department killed six terrorists belonging to Al-Qaida in Layyah on Wednesday.
According to reports, the terrorists including four foreigners clashed with the law enforcement agencies when they were challenged. In the exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed when two escaped taking advantage of darkness.
Reports said that arms were also recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police on a tip-off carried out an operation near Mini Stadium at the Sheikhupura Road in Gujranwala and apprehended a Daesh, also known as the Islamic State or ISIS, commander, Faisal Babar on Tuesday night.
Pressure cooker bombs, timers, ball bearings and detonators were also recovered from his possession. The sources said that the arrested terrorist had planned to carry out attacks on security forces installations in Gujranwala.
Sources further revealed that the arrested terrorist has been shifted to some undisclosed location for further investigation.
